PINEHURST , N.C.; March 5, 2007 ¨C After the first round of the Pinehurst Challenge, the Nittany Lions, with a score of 337, are in 15 th place, in front of Marshall and James Madison. Leading the team, Paik shot seven- over 79 and tied for 19th place.

East Carolina, with a score of 308, finished the round in first place with the College of Charleston only two strokes behind in second place. Individually, Richmond 's Ashley Lambert shot one- over 73 and is currently in first place. Sara Wikstrom of Arkansas- Little Rock and Lene Krog of East Carolina are tied in second place after shooting three-over 75.

Other competitiors for the Nittany Lions were Sara Lester, Maggie Lester, Christin Pacacha, and Megan Padua.

The tournament, which was originally supposed to consist of two rounds on Monday and one on Tuesday, was shortened to only one round each day after frost forced a late start on Monday. The final round will be held Tuesday, March 6, with shotgun starts at 9 a.m.
