SAN JUAN, P.R. (Feb. 23, 2005) - The Penn State women's golf team finished the Lady Puerto Rico Classic with their best day on the course as they shot a 315 to finish 14th with a 335-320-315-970 at the par-72, 6,000 yard Dorado Del Mar Country Club.

Junior Amber Weinerth (Auburn, N.Y.) also had her best day on the course, firing a 2-over-par 74 to finish 22nd with 79-77-74-230.

Auburn won the team title with 299-297-292-888, TCU was second with 304-301-304-909, Florida took third with 308-295-307-910, Wake Forest was fourth with 312-307-293-912, and Georgia took fifth with 312-305-296-913.

Senior Lauren Lundy (Wayne, Pa.) finished 58th for the Nittany Lions after shooting a third-round score of 78 to finish with 90-77-78-245. Sophomore Evelyn Paik (Toronto, Ontario) finished 61st (84-80-82-246), sophomore Maggie Lester (Oswego, N.Y.) took 68th (82-86-81-249) and junior Katrin Wolfe (Johnstown, Pa.) was 75th (90-94-82-266).

Penn State will be back in action Mar. 7-9 when they travel to compete in the Edwin Watts Carolina Classic in Pinehurst, N.C.
