Nittany Lions End Season With Big Ten Tournament

University Park, Pa.: After three days and four rounds of the Big Ten Women's Golf Tournament, Purdue won with an impressive score of 17-over 1169. The Nittany Lions shot 84-over 1236 and finished in tenth place.
Although Michigan State was in first place after the first round of the competition, Purdue pulled ahead in the second round and remained in first place throughout the tournament. Michigan State finished in second place with a score of 38-over 1190.
Senior Christin Pacacha was the top finisher for the Nittany Lions with a total score of 15-over 303. Junior Sara Lester and freshman Victoria Arena both shot five-over 77 in the final round of play to finish with final scores of 306 and 308, respectively.
Purdue's Maria Hernandez won the individual title and led her team to victory with rounds of 75, 71, 66 and 69. Teammates Christel Boeljon and Maude- Aimee Leblanc were also top finishers in the competition- Boeljon in second place and Leblanc in a tied fourth place with Michigan State's Laura Kueny. Tyrette Metzendorf of Iowa finished in third place.
The Big Ten Tournament was the final competition for the women's golf team until the fall season.
