Penn State Women's Golf Posts Fifth Place Finish at C&F Bank Invitational

The Nittany Lion women's golf team gained four spots on the final day, finishing the C&F Bank Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., in a tie for fifth place. Penn State posted a second round score of 312, shaving 10 strokes from the first round total and finishing with a 634 (+58). The tournament was hosted by William and Mary.
Freshman Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) finished strong and continued to lead the team. She carded a score of 76 in the second round for a total of an 11-over-par 155 in the tournament. This was good for a tie for eighth place, the first top 10 finish of her young career and the sixth for Penn State this season. Freshman Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) also improved on the second day by two strokes, finishing the tournament with a 158 (80-78). She finished tied for 16th place.
The rest of the Nittany Lion starters posted equal scores of 161 (+17). Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) cut a stroke off of her first round score with an 80 in the second round. Sophomore Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) and senior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) improved on the final day by three strokes, each carding a 79. The three finished in a tie for 29th place. Senior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy), competing as an individual, finished the tournament with a score of 171 (86-85).
Yale held on to the lead, earning the team title with a final score of 606 (296-310). Yale's Seo Hee Moon stayed on top for the individual title with a 2-under-par 142.
Penn State will not compete again until April 16-17 at the Lady Buckeye Classic, hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio. This will be its last tournament before the Big Ten Championship tournament.
