NCAA Field Hockey Selection Show to be Aired
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., November 6, 2000 - For the first time in NCAA Championship history, the NCAA will be making the 2000 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship selection show available on the Internet through Yahoo! Broadcast. The show will originate from the NCAA national office and will begin at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7. The anticipated length of this program is 20 minutes. Pairing, seedings and host sites will be announced at this time. The Internet selection show can be accessed by going to www.ncaachampionships.com .Click on "Field Hockey" on the left side of the page. On the field hockey home page, click on the "Video Selection Show Via Internet" link on the right-hand side. A chat session will follow the selection show to allow the general public an opportunity to ask questions about the 2000 championship. Minimum computer requirements needed to listen to the show are a PC or Macintosh with a Pentium chip or better. Also, a sound card, speakers and a minimum of 14.4 kbps (28.8 kbps connection for video) is needed for the audio. The Real Media Player application is needed to view or listen to the show. Copies of the application can be downloaded for free from the www.realnetworks.com . web site. The Lady Lions are hoping to make their 19th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Only one other team (Old Dominion) has made more appearances. Penn State is 17-5 overall and is coming off of a 3-2 loss to No. 5 Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game.
