It's Tournament Time: Penn State has been on a roll since Oct. 7, winning its last eight contests in a row and going 9-1 during the
month of September. The Lions also won its last three Big Ten
matches, to finish 3-3 in the confernce and tie for fourth.
PSU enters the tournament on new ground, receiving a fifth seed, the lowest since entering the Big Ten Tournament. Prior to this year, the Lions have been first or second. The Hawkeyes earn the fourth seed after defeating Penn State, 2-1, on Oct. 5. This is the fifth time the teams will be pitted against one another in the Big
Ten Tournament.
Penn State (four times) and Iowa (once) are two of three
teams to ever win the Big Ten Tournament crown. Michigan also won it
in back-to-back season from 1999-00.
