STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State sophomore forward Michele Rigby (Dover, Del.) has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week according to conference officials.

Rigby tallied a career-best five points while contributing to all three scores in No. 6 Penn State's 3-1 at Ohio State last Saturday. The sophomore attempted two shots and was successful on both as she netted the first two scoring tallies of her collegiate career, including the game-winner.

She also added an assist as she set up Big Ten leading scorer Heather Conroy (Duncannon, Pa.) for the first goal of the game.

Rigby is the third Nittany Lion to be honored by the conference this season as goalkeeper Annie Zinkavich (Kingston, Pa.) was named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16 and Conroy was Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 30.

Penn State hosts the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the nation this weekend at Bigler Field. The Nittany Lions will battle current No. 2 and defending national champion Michigan on Friday, Oct. 25 beginning at 4:00 p.m. (ET) before meeting No. 1 ranked Old Dominion on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m. (ET).
