Conroy, who scored each of her goals in the opening 35 minutes, increased her team-leading goal total to 13 for the season.
Penn State improves to 8-1 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten with the win, while Indiana slips to 2-7 overall and 0-1 in league play.
The Nittany Lions (8-1, 1-1 Big Ten) dominated play for the majority of the contest as it posted 26 shots while limiting Indiana to two. Penn State also won the penalty corner battle as it attempted a season-high 29 while Indiana went the entire match without an attempt.
Conroy needed only 2:40 into the first half before she ripped the first of her three of an assist from Jill Martz (Dalmatia, Pa.) to give Penn State a 1-0 lead.
Conroy returned the favor at the 12:53 mark of the first half as she set up a blast by Martz, which increased Penn State??s lead to 2-0.
Following Conroy??s second goal at 16:13, Timarie Legel (Morgantown, Pa.) netted her seventh of the season to up the advantage to 4-0.
Conroy??s scored her third goal and Penn State??s final of the first half at 29:30.
Indiana (2-7, 0-1 Big Ten) got on the scoreboard less than five minutes into the second half as Kayla Bayshore scored off a corner attempt to trim the lead to 5-1.
Karin Grap (Van Etten, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring with her fifth goal of the season at 50:07 in the second half.
Penn State returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 when it travels to Northwestern to face the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
