A Couple of Firsts: The Nittany Lions will be looking at a couple of "firsts" this weekend. On Friday, Penn State will be looking for its FIRST Big Ten win of the season against Michigan State. The Lions have won two games in a row and hope to extend that win streak. On Sunday, PSU will host national semifinalist Wake Forest in the FIRST meeting ever between the teams.

Lions' Lair: In the Lions 36-year history, they have been really tough to beat at home, posting a 215-43-13 record for an 81.7 winning percentage. Since moving to Bigler Field in 1996, Penn State has been even tougher, winning 85.1 percent of its games (40-7-0). The Nittany Lions won a school-record 25-consecutive home games from 1996-99. The Nittany Lions are 30-7-1 in home openers. The last time Penn State won its home opener was on September 3, 1999 when the team defeated Ohio, 5-2.

On Deck: The Lions jump right back into the action hosting state rival Bucknell on Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. Penn State has won 24 of the 28 meetings and have not lost to the Bison since 1971.
