Penn State Field Hockey Slips Up in 2-1 Overtime Loss at Lafayette

Easton, Pa., September 13, 2003 - The No. 4 ranked Penn State field hockey team was upset by Lafayette 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.

The loss marks Penn State's first in its all-time series with Lafayette after defeating the Leopards in each of the team's previous nine meetings.

The Nittany Lions are currently 4-1 on the season while Lafayette improves to 3-3 overall.

Senior Heather Conroy (Duncannon, Pa.) recorded her first goal of the season in the loss.

Penn State closes out its current three-game road trip Sunday when it travels to face No. 10 Princeton beginning at 1:00 p.m.
