STATE COLLEGE, Pa., January 9, 2001 - Former Penn State field hockey standout Tracey Larson (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) was named to the U.S. National Field Hockey team as announced by the United States Field Hockey Association. Larson played for four seasons at Penn State from 19996-99. The two-time first team all-Big Ten performer was named 1999 Big Ten Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year while leading the conference in scoring during that campaign. Larson was also named conference Freshman of the Year in 1996. Larson is one of eight returning players on the U.S. squad. The team will travel to the Americas Cup which will be hosted by Jamaica with the winner earning a berth in the 2002 International Field Hockey Federation World Cup.
