No. 1 seed Penn State claims the Big Ten Tournament Championship with a 2-0 victory over No. 3 seed Michigan!

HIGH SCHOOL: As a four-year letter winner in field hockey, was an NFHCA All-American, as well as a two-time NFHCA Mid-East Regional All-American...From 2005-2007, was named First-Team All-State three times, named to the Patriot News Big 11 Team twice and named the 2007 Mid-Penn Conference Player of the Year...Was named an MPC Keystone Division All-Star through 2005-2007, as well as named to the Georgi Falcon Classic All-Tournament Team...Set the Lower Dauphin High School record for career points and goals (257 points, 101 goals, 55 assists) under head coach Linda Kreiser...Helped lead the Falcons to a State Championship in 2006 and to the State Semifinals in 2007...Went 29-0 during the 2006 season and 27-1 during her senior campaign...In 2006 and 2007, earned District 3 Championship, Mid-Penn Conference Championship and Mid-Penn Keystone Division Championship...Also lettered in soccer at UVA, setting the school record for career assists and game-winning assists.

PERSONAL: Born Lauren Rebecca Alwine on Feb. 24, 1990 in Lancaster, Pa...Parents are James and Diane Alwine...Has one sister, Taylor...Mother, Diane, was a gymnast at Clarion and sister, Taylor, plays field hockey and basketball at Elizabethtown College...Attending graduate school for Media Studies...majored in Sociology and earned a Business Certificate at UVA.

ON CHOOSING PENN STATE: "I chose Penn State because I wanted a chance to attend graduate school and play a year of field hockey. Penn State was my top choice for field hockey in high school before choosing to play soccer, so I just picked up where I left off."
