Nittany Lion Fencing Teams Head to Princeton this Weekend

University Park, Pa. - Penn State men's and women's fencing teams will compete this Saturday at the Princeton dual meets. Play will begin at 8:15 a.m. when the Princeton and Temple Women's teams will square off. Other teams competing this weekend will be NYU, Harvard, North Carolina and Vassar.

Last weekend at the Garret Open, the Nittany Lions found success on both the men's and women's sides. For the men's, senior Arthur Urman (Maalot, Israel) took first place in the men's division of epee. On the saber side last weekend, sophomore Daniel Bak (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) took second place and senior Franz Boghicev (Dormagen, Germany) finished in third.

For the women, sophomore Anasta Ferdman (Maalot, Israel) placed first in the Women's division of epee last weekend. In the foil division, junior Allison Glasser finished second to Ohio State's Lindsa Knauer.

Next Week, Penn State fencers will head to the Olympic Trials in Richmond, Virginia.

9:15 a.m.: Penn State/Vassar
10:30 a.m.: NYU/Penn State
2 p.m.: Princeton/Penn State
3:15 p.m.: UNC/Penn State
