Nittany Lion Men's and Women's Fencers Open 2007-08 Season at the Temple Open

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State Fencing will open the 2007-08 season at the Temple Open in Philadelphia, Pa. Action will take place on Saturday, November 3, with women's action and will conclude on Sunday with the men's competition. Head coach Emmanuil Kaidanov's women's fencers will compete 8:00 a.m. Saturday and the men's team will compete on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in Temple's McGonigle Hall.

Last year, Penn State claimed its 10th National Championship in fencing. Penn State will have four returning All-Americans on the Men's side including senior captain Arthur Urman in the epee, senior Jeffrey Chang in the foil, sophomore Nick Chinman in the foil and senior Franz Boghicev in the Saber. On the women's side, sophomore epee fencer Anastasia Ferdman will return as the only one of the six All-Americans from last year. Ferdman, along with senior captain Megan Luteran, will lead the young group.

Penn State will have the NAC Junior/Cadet/Youth next weekend in Dallas, Texas, prior to returning to State College on November 17th and 18th for the Garret Penn State Open.
