University Park, Pa.The Nittany Lion's men and women fencers have moved to the second spot in the 2009 USFCA College Fencing Coaches' Poll.

The rankings are as follows:

Men:

1. Notre Dame, 2. Penn State, 3. Ohio State, 4. Pennsylvania, 5. Columbia, 6. Princeton, 7. St. John's (NY), 8. Duke, 9. Harvard, 10. Stanford.

Others receiving votes -- North Carolina; NYU and Yale (tied); Brandeis; Wayne State (MI); Air Force; Drew; MIT; UC-San Diego; Boston College and Johns Hopkins (tied); Brown; Vassar

Women:

1. Notre Dame, 2. Penn State, 3. Ohio State, 4. Harvard, 5. Columbia-Barnard, 6. Pennsylvania, 7. Northwestern, 8. Temple, 9. St. John's (NY), 10. Penn State men and women are now looking forward to regionals, where they will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
