All-American 2006

Over 100 career wins and All-America laurels now part of her repertoire, senior Case Szarwark heads into her senior season with bigger personal goals and a team title on her mind. An outstanding talent and perhaps Penn State's gutsiest fencer, Szarwark will be one of Penn State's team leaders both on and off the strips.

Lion Career: 2005-06:
Szarwark posted an outstanding 34-9 overall record and surpassed the 100 win plateau (she now has 104 wins with the epee). Parlaying that into post-season success, Szarwark finished third at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals and then had an outstanding NCAA Championship run. Szarwark courageously claimed All-America honors. She was an Academic All-Big Ten pick as well and had a very strong Penn State Open.
2004-05:
Szarwark posted a 37-8 record in 2004-05 and placed fifth at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals. Earning a trip to nationals, Szarwark, finishing ninth at the event, earned Honorable Mention honors.
2003-04:
Szarwark went 33-14 as a freshman, starting all season. Her top performances included going 10-2 on Jan. 24, helping the team to four wins on the day. Case placed fifth at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals and earned a trip to the NCAA Championships, where she competed well.

High School/Personal: Szarwark attended Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, where she also played Tennis. An outstanding student, Case was won the Presidential Service Award for Community Service. She is a journalism major.
