Career Statistics
Junior Kerry Byerts heads into her third season on the women's epee squad looking to improve upon her fifth place finish at nationals last season. Byerts will be looking to earn her second trip to the NCAA Championships in 2009. Lion Career: 2007-08: The All-American Byerts finished with a 34-12 overall record in dual match competition. She finished second at Regionals, qualifying her for her first ever NCAA Championships appearance. Byerts posted dual match records of 12-3, 11-2 and 11-7. In addition, Byerts placed ninth at the 2007 Penn State Garret Open.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Byerts was a member of the 2005 U.S. World Team and was a finalist at the World Championships that year. In 2006, she moved back to Webster, N.Y., and finished second at U.S. Summer Nationals. She fenced for the Rochester Fencing Center and was a five-time U.S. World Team qualifier (2001 through 2006).
