UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Following a second-straight appearance in the national postseason, Penn State women's basketball head coach Coquese Washington has announced the 2018-19 non-conference schedule for the Lady Lions. The schedule includes six teams that qualified for the national postseason with nine games inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
The 11-game non-conference schedule will feature only two road games, with both opponents participating in the national postseason in 2017-18, while the home schedule will feature four postseason opponents.
Renewals and new season ticket purchases are under way for 2018-19 season, with more information available by calling 1-800-NITTANY or by clicking here. Those fans who renew or purchase new season tickets by June 15 will be invited to the annual Cookout with Coquese later in the summer.
The Lady Lions will begin the 2018-19 campaign inside the friendly confines of the Bryce Jordan Center, hosting Providence on Thursday, Nov. 8 and squaring off with 2018 NCAA Tournament participant Cal on Sunday, Nov. 11. After a trip to the Bronx, New York to take on 2018 WNIT participant Fordham on Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Lady Lions will return home for three-straight contests on the University Park campus.
The homestand begins with a visit from NCAA Tournament regular Princeton on Sunday, Nov. 18. Penn State will then stay at home for the Thanksgiving break to host North Dakota on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Stony Brook on Sunday, Nov. 25.
The final road game of the non-conference season sends the Lady Lions to Florida State on Thursday, Nov. 29 for the 2018 Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Penn State is 4-7 all-time in the challenge and will travel to Tallahassee for the second time as a part of the event, falling during the 2008 challenge in Washington's second season at the helm of the program.
A visit from Jacksonville on either Saturday, Dec. 1 or Sunday, Dec. 2 will start a string of four-straight home contests. 2018 WNIT participant Duquesne will follow on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and St. Bonaventure will visit the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, Dec. 9.
After a break for finals, Penn State will close out its non-conference home slate against 2018 NCAA Tournament participant American on Sunday, Dec. 16.
The Big Ten has already announced its home, away and two-play opponents for the 2018-19 season, with Penn State's 18-game schedule breaking down as follows;
Home Only -- Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue
Away Only -- Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern
Home/Away -- Illinois, Maryland, Ohio State, Rutgers, Wisconsin
