Back on Jan. 12, the Lady Lions lost by 10 points at home to Big Ten foe Purdue. Since giving up 84 points to the Boilermakers, head coach Coquese Washington has turned the majority of her game preparation and focus to defense.
Earlier in the week Washington and her coaching staff held a meeting with the leaders of the Lady Lions. By the looks of it, the discussion has made a serious impact on the team's recent defensive efforts.
In their last three contests, Penn State has managed to hold their opponents to an average of 49.3 points per game. To put that number into perspective, on the season, Penn State's opponents are averaging 64.3 per game.
