Lady Lions Add Transfer Mia Nickson to Roster
Penn State Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington announced the addition of 6-2 transfer Mia Nickson (Ashburn, Va.) to the Lady Lion roster. Nickson, who will sit out the 2009-10 season due to NCAA transfer rules, will have three years of eligibility remaining when she begins competing for the Lady Lions in 2010-11. Read More >>
Three Former Lady Lions on WNBA Rosters
Three former Penn State Lady Lions, Helen Darling, Kelly Mazzante and Tanisha Wright, are on opening day WNBA rosters as the season opens today. Penn State's three WNBAers are tied with Purdue for the most among Big Ten teams. Mazzante and Darling will square off in the season opener at Phoenix at 10 p.m., while Seattle opens its season at Sacramento. Read More >>

The Penn State Lady Lions will host Georgia Tech in the Third Annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Bryce Jordan Center, it was announced by the Big Ten and ACC today. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Lady Lions and the Yellow Jackets. Read More >>
Grant and Greene Invited to 2009 USA Basketball Trials
Junior Penn State women's basketball player Tyra Grant (Youngstown, Ohio) and future Lady Lion Nikki Greene (Diboll, Texas) each received invitations to the 2009 USA Basketball Trials, which will be held May 14-17 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Grant's invitation is to tryout for the World University Games team, while Greene will try to earn a spot on the U19 World Championship squad. Read More >>
The Second Annual Coquese's Drive for the Women's Resource Center will take place on Friday, August 21 at the Penn State Blue Course. The inaugural event raised $5,400 for the Centre County Women's Resource Center and saw 92 golfers hit the links.
