Lady Lions Falter Late in Loss to No. 8/9 Ohio State
The Penn State Lady Lions (15-8, 7-6) led by as 15 points and forced 25 turnovers, but a late 17-4 run by No. 8/9 Ohio State (23-3, 11-2) gave the Buckeyes an 86-73 win at the Bryce Jordan Center Sunday. Lady Lions Host No. 8/9 Ohio State Sunday in Marquee Matchup
The Penn State Lady Lions (15-7, 7-5) will look to snap their three-game losing skid when they host No. 8/9 Ohio State (22-3, 10-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m., in the Bryce Jordan Center. Sunday is the final Subway Full Court Four Pack day for the Lady Lions. Lady Lions' Grant Finalist for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

The Lady Lions will once again join in the fight against breast cancer as they host 2010 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. against Illinois. The women's basketball program has raised more than $83,000 in its first three Pink Zone events. Money raised through Pink Zone at Penn State will be donated to Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

Senior guard Tyra Grant is on the Preseason Wooden Award Candidate list and was a semifinalist for the 2008-09 Naismith Award after an outstanding season. Tyra is one of the premier players in the country and is a candidate for All-America honors.
Many former Lady Lions have found success on the professional level. Penn State has had 11 players drafted in the WNBA and have had 10 players with successful WNBA careers. There are currently three Lady Lions in the WNBA, the most among Big Ten teams, including 2007 WNBA Champion Kelly Mazzante of the Phoenix Mercury, the San Antonio Silverstars's Helen Darling and Tanisha Wright of the Seattle Storm.
