Men's Volleyball Ranked No. 13 in AVCA Division I-II Preseason Coaches Poll

AVCA Top-15 Poll

- The Penn State men's volleyball team debuts in the 2017 AVCA Division I-II Preseason Coaches’ Poll at No. 13. The Nittany Lions face eight teams in 2017 that are ranked in this year's preseason poll.

Penn State opens the season traveling to Columbus, OH Jan. 6-7 in a four team tournament in St. John Arena. The Nittany Lions face No. 2 UCLA (Jan.6), and USC (Jan. 8) to open up the 2017 season.

Penn State plays 15 home matches in the confines of Rec Hall in 2017. The Nittany Lions take on each EIVA opponent, including Sacred Heart, Harvard, Saint Francis, George Mason, Princeton, Charleston (W.V.) and NJIT twice during the regular season. Penn State also has a home and away series with defending national champion Ohio State as well as Lewis and Loyola (Chicago).

In addition, Penn State scheduled matches with Ball State (Jan. 13), IPFW (Jan. 14), Mount Olive (Jan. 27), Coker (Jan. 28), UC-Santa Barbara (Mar. 3), Stanford (Mar. 4), and Cal-Baptist (Mar. 17).

Penn State, which closed out 2016 ranked 12 in the nation, returns 12 letterwinners and four starters from the 2016 squad that captured its 18th-consecutive EIVA regular season championship . The Nittany Lions also welcome the addition of five newcomers for the 2017 season.
