Penn State Men's Volleyball Releases 2013 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's volleyball team released its 2013 schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Matches with seven teams ranked in the final AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll highlight Penn State's schedule.
The teams from the final poll include, No. 1 UC Irvine, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Lewis, No. 9 Ohio State, No. 12 Loyola and No. 15 Harvard.
Penn State opens the 2013 season at the Hawaii Outrigger Invitational. The 2013 season marks the Nittany Lions 18th appearance in the Outrigger Invite. The Lions are set to face UCLA on Jan. 10, Hawaii on Jan. 11 and Ohio State on Jan. 12.
The Nittany Lions return home for 10 of their next 12 matches, including eight straight, beginning with Lewis on Jan. 18. Penn State will host Loyola (Jan. 22), Sacred Heart (Jan. 25), Harvard (Jan. 26), Pfeiffer (Feb. 1), Mount Olive (Feb. 2), Saint Francis (Feb. 8) and the Buckeyes (Feb. 9). The Lions travel to Harvard and Sacred Heart on Feb. 15-16 before welcoming George Mason and Princeton to Rec Hall on Feb. 22-23.
Penn State spends the entire month of March on the road with a trip IPFW and Ball State on March 9-10, before returning home on April 5 to host Lees-McRae. The Nittany Lions head to the West Coast for matches against Concordia and UC Irvine on April 12-13 and finish the regular season at home on April 19-20 against Rutgers-Newark and NJIT.
This season's schedule includes home and away matches with Penn State's Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) opponents, including Saint Francis (Pa.), Princeton, Rutgers-Newark, Harvard, Sacred Heart, NJIT and George Mason.
The EIVA Semifinals and Championship take place on Thursday and Saturday, April 25 and 27 on the campus of the top seed.
UCLA will host the 2013 NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship, May 2-4.
