Making their 15th appearance in the NCAA semifinals, the fourth-seeded Nittany Lions (20-13) will clash with the top-seeded Bruins (27-5) at 6:30 p.m. EDT (5:30 p.m. EST/CDT) in Fort Wayne, Ind. WMAJ will carry the match live, while ESPN2 will air Friday at 12:30 a.m. (Thursday night). The winner of the Lions-Bruins match will face the winner of the Pepperdine-Ohio State semifinal Saturday at 2:00 p.m. EDT in the National Championship match, which will be carried live by ESPN2. WMAJ also will broadcast if Penn State is playing in the title match. WMAJ's broadcast of the Penn State-UCLA match also will be available via webcast at: www.psu.edu/sports. The Lions trail the Bruins in the all-time series, 17-5, including a 3-1 UCLA win Jan. 26 at the Outrigger Invitational in Honolulu. UCLA holds a 4-1 edge over Penn State in NCAA Tournament matches, with the last meeting coming in the 1997 semifinals, a 3-2 UCLA win. The Bruins are the only team with more NCAA appearances than Penn State, making their 22nd visit. Coach Mark Pavlik's Lions bring a 12-match winning streak into Thursday's clash. Penn State won the EIVA Championship Saturday to earn its ninth NCAA appearance in the last 10 years.
