State College, Pa.- The Penn State men's volleyball team will be looking for its 13th EIVA Conference title this week when it hosts the 2001 EIVA Championship this Thursday, April 26 and Saturday, April 28 at Rec Hall. The No. 1 seed Nittany Lions will host No. 4 seed Rutgers-Newark in the second semifinal on Thursday slated for a 8:00 p.m. start. No. 2 seed Concordia will battle No. 3 George Mason beginning at 5:00 p.m. The winners of each semifinal match will advance to Saturday's 7:30 p.m. championship match and play for an automatic berth in the NCAA Men's Volleyball Final Four which will be held in Long Beach, Calif., beginning Thursday, May 3. Penn State advanced to the semifinals with a 3-0 win over New York in quarterfinal action last Saturday at Rec Hall. The Lions are 22-7 overall this season and 13-1 in EIVA Tait Division play.
