Men's Volleyball Set To Host EIVA Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., April 18, 2005 - The third-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team earned the top seed in the EIVA Championship and will take on No. 8 seed Harvard in the EIVA Quarterfinal match on Saturday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Rec Hall. Admission to the quarterfinal match is free.

In the other EIVA Quarterfinal matches on Saturday, No. 2 seed George Mason hosts St. Francis (Pa.) at 7:00 p.m., Juniata hosts NYU at 7:00 p.m. and Rutgers-Newark hosts Princeton at 4:00 p.m.

The Quarterfinal winners advance to the EIVA Semifinals, hosted by Penn State on Thursday, April 28. The Juniata-NYU winner will face the George Mason-St. Francis winner at 5:00 p.m. with the Penn State-Harvard winner taking on the Rutgers-Newark-Princeton winner at 8:00 p.m.

The winners of each of the semifinal matches will square off on Saturday, April 30 at 7:15 p.m. for the right to advance to the NCAA Championship, hosted by UCLA on May 5 & 7. The EIVA Championship match will be televised live by CSTV.

Admission to the semifinals and finals is $4 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens. Penn State students are free with Penn State ID. Groups of 10 or more are just $1 per person. Ticket office doors open at 4:00 p.m. on April 28 and 5:45 p.m. on April 30.
