CSTV to Nationally Televise Penn State Men's Volleyball Match and EIVA Championship Match
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Feb. 3, 2004 - CSTV (College Sports Television) has announced that it will televise at least one Penn State men's volleyball match as part of its CSTV Spikes men's college volleyball schedule. The Nittany Lions' match at Ohio State on Wednesday, March 3 will air to a national television audience of more than 15 million homes on cable and satellite on Saturday, March 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET. "This is a great opportunity to showcase men's volleyball in the East and between two Big Ten programs," said head coach Mark Pavlik. "We appreciate the efforts of CSTV and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) in extending the television coverage of men's volleyball to our fanbase across the country." In addition to the Penn State-Ohio State match, CSTV will again be airing live the championship match of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA), of which Penn State is a member, on Saturday, May 1 at 5:00 p.m. The winner of the conference championship match receives an automatic berth in the NCAA National Semifinal on May 6 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The first match of CSTV Spikes will feature seventh-ranked Stanford at No. 4 BYU on Saturday, Feb. 21. A complete listing of televised matches is below.
