Men's Volleyball Hosts Loyola-Chicago in Midweek Matchup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's volleyball team (3-1) continues its eight-match home stand on Tuesday, Jan. 22 when it hosts Loyola-Chicago. Action is set for 7 p.m. in Rec Hall.
Nittany Lion Preview
The Nittany Lions improved to 3-1 with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-18) win against Lewis on Friday, Jan. 18. Penn State was led by senior Tom Comfort (Orchard Park, N.Y.) who posted 4.50 kills per set. Redshirt freshman Taylor Hammond (Mission Viejo, Calif.) paced the offense with 10.75 assists per set. Defensively, Comfort and redshirt sophomore Connor Curry (Newport Beach, Calif.) averaged 3.00 digs per set, while junior Peter Russell (Ellicott City, Md.) had 2.50 digs per set. Senior Nick Turko (Lewisberry, Pa.) led the team at the net with 1.00 blocks per set.
Against Lewis Penn State hit .195 with 12.75 kills per set, 12.00 assist per set, 1.00 aces per set, 13.50 digs per set and 2.25 blocks per set.

Scouting the Ramblers
Loyola owns a 4-3 record so far this season. After opening 2013 with three straight losses at the UCSB Asics Invitational, the Ramblers have captured four consecutive wins. The Ramblers have swept all four opponents, including Saint Ambrose, Carthage, Saint Francis and George Mason.
Penn State continues its home stand hosting EIVA foes Sacred Heart and Harvard at Rec Hall on Jan. 25-26. The Lions face SHU at 7 p.m. and host Harvard at 4 p.m.
