Nittany Lions Travel to UVa Fall Classic

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis is back in action this weekend at the UVa Fall Classic. The classic is hosted in Charlottesville, Va. by the University of Virginia. The Nittany Lions will send four members of the team.
The UVa Fall Classic will have seven singles draws and seven doubles draws. Each draw has a double elimination bracket and matches to determine final place in the draw.
Nika Dolidze (Tbilisi, Georgia), David Kohan (Sydney, Australia), Ramy Labna (Doha, Qatar) and Chris Young (Melbourne, Australia) will represent Penn State. Labna and Young are making their fall debuts.
Dolidze,a freshman, made his college debut last weekend at the Navy All-Conference Tournament. The Republic of Georgia native went a perfect 3-0 with wins over Navy's Tyler Tossavainen (6-2, 6-2), Princeton's Florin Radu (3-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Indiana's George Rivers (6-1, 6-1). Dolidze is in the Orange Singles Draw, with a first round matchup against Virginia Tech's Aaron Gomez.
The sophomore, Kohan, also played at the Navy All-Conference Tournament. He went 2-1 on the weekend, with victories against Navy's Krishna Jana (6-3, 6-4) and Princeton's Dan Davies (7-5, 6-3). Kohan faces Bucknell's Nick Bybel in a first round White Singles Draw match. Kohan is the No. 4 seed in the draw.
Labna went 7-10 last year, including five wins during tournament play. He went 2-2 at last year's UVa Fall Classic. Labna faces Radford's Javier Waase in the Green Singles Draw first round.
Young, a senior, won 11 matches a year ago, including six wins last Fall. He also went 2-2 at last year's classic. Young meets William & Mary's Aaron Chaffee in the first round of the Red Singles Draw.
Kohan and Young will pair up in the White Doubles Draw. They are the No. 2 seed in the draw with a first round matchup against Longwood's Bharani Sankar and Roman Ilchev.
Dolidze and Labna will combine in the Gold Doubles Draw. The duo are also the No. 2 seed in their draw, taking on Liberty's Alex Llamas and Stan Vaughan.
