Penn State Men¡¯s Tennis Defeats St. Bonaventure 6-1

University Park, Pa., February 22, 2004-The Penn State men¡¯s tennis team completed a perfect weekend by defeating St. Bonaventure 6-1 at the Penn State Tennis Center. Penn State improves to 6-2 on the season.

Penn State started the day off strong winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Malcolm Scatliffe (San Bernardino, Calif.) and senior Clint Keithley (Valparaiso, Ind.) won convincingly 8-2.

In singles competition, senior Todd Stecko (Lake Forrest, Ill.) won impressively against Dan Stankovic 7-5, 6-0. Keithley pushed his win streak to four defeating Andrew Hart 6-3, 6-4.

The victory game Penn State¡¯s Head Coach Jan Bortner his 300th career victory. Bortner, in his 13th season as the men¡¯s head coach has recorded 175 victories. Bortner also coached the women¡¯s team from 1982-1990 recording 125 victories.
