University Park, Pa. - Junior Guillaume St-Maurice (Saint-Eustache, QC, Canada) earned a singles victory for Penn State in the final day of the Georgia Tech Invitational on Sunday. Maurice won his match 6-0, 6-1 over Phillip Fuelkell of Furman. Junior Ryan Gormley (Las Vegas, Nev.), who was also scheduled to play today, sat out of competition due to an ankle injury. With the St-Maurice's victory, Penn State finished the weekend with a 5-3 record in singles competition and 1-2 mark in doubles competition. The highlights of the tournament came when Gormley and St-Maurice each earned upsets over the No. 5 seeds in their respective draws. St-Maurice went 3-1 for the weekend, while Gormley was 2-1. Senior Brendan Lynch (North Potomac, Md.) will represent Penn State on Monday at the All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Following the All-American Championships, the Nittany Lions will participate in the ITA Regionals in New Haven, Conn. on Oct. 16-21. Following that, the Big Ten Indoor Championships will take place on Oct. 30-Nov. 3 in Madison, Wis.
