Spring 2014: Unanimous First Team All-Big Ten. Qualified for NCAA Singles Championships and NCAA Doubles Championships. Big Ten Player of the Week on February 4, March 26 and April 1. First Nittany Lion to win Big Ten POW three times in a single season... Went 18-7 this spring at the top singles spot, including eight wins against ranked opponents and a 6-4 mark in Big Ten play. Stakhovsky was ranked in the ITA Poll 13 straight weeks to finish the year. He reached as high as #33... Stakhovsky combined with Russell Bader to go 18-6 in doubles with five wins against ranked opponents and an 8-2 record against the Big Ten. They were ranked for nine straight weeks to finish the year. They reached as high as 26th in the ITA Poll... After going 1-2 in their first three matches, Bader and Stakhovsky won seven straight matches including an 8-6 victory against No. 1 Ohio State's 3rd-ranked Peter Kobelt and Kevin Metka. They also earned a win against No. 33 VCU... The duo won eight matches against Big Ten opponents, including ranked wins against the Buckeyes, No. 44 Michigan's Alex Buzzi and Barrett Franks(22) and No. 69 Indiana's Daniel Bednarczyk and Sam Monette(65)... They defeated the Wolverines' Buzzi and Franks again in the Big Ten Tournament... In the NCAA Second Round match, they knocked off Virginia's Luca Corinteli and Mac Styslinger, ranked 53rd, 8-5... They clinched the doubles point four times for Penn State... In the First Round of the NCAA Doubles Championships, Bader and Stakhovsky defeated Memphis' #13 David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury, 6-3, 6-4. In the second round, they fell 6-1, 7-6(3) against Ohio State's #4 Kobelt and Metka... Stakhovsky won his first nine singles matches of the spring, including ranked wins against No. 33 Virginia Tech's Amerigo Contini, ranked 26th, and No. 33 VCU's Alexis Heugas, ranked 73rd... Stakhovsky went 1-2 in his next three matches, including a win against No. 50 Princeton's #108 Zack McCourt... Stakhovsky then won five straight matches, including ranked wins against No. 44 Michigan's Alex Petrone, ranked 112th, No. 10 Illinois' Jared Hiltzik, ranked 9th, and No. 28 Northwestern's Raleigh Smith, ranked 37th... Later in Big Ten play, he earned a win against No. 36 Purdue's Syzmon Tatarczyk and No. 63 Nebraska's Dusty Boyer, ranked 111th... In the NCAA Tournament First Round, Stakhovsky rallied from down 5-4 in the third set to knock off No. 50 UNC Wilmington's Rafael Aita, ranked 50th, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, to clinch the match and send the Nittany Lions to the second round... In his NCAA Singles Championship First Round match, Stakhovsky dropped a 6-2, 6-2 result to Vanderbilt's Gonzales Austin, ranked 21st in the nation.

Fall 2013: Did not see any action during the fall season.

Before Penn State: Stakhovsky comes to Penn State after transferring from Oklahoma, where he went 10-10 in singles and 6-5 in doubles last year. The Kiev, Ukraine native boasts a career-high ATP 840 in singles and 814 in doubles. He reached as high as 67 in the ITF Junior Rankings, with multiple wins over Top 20 Juniors. Stakhovsky trained at Gymnazium Jiriho Wolkera. Leonard's brother, Sergiy, has a career-high ATP ranking of 31 in singles and 33 in doubles, including a win over Roger Federer at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships.
