Pierce Places 13th on 1-meter Board at NCAA Championships
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Mar. 24, 2005) - Junior Adam Pierce (Conroe, Texas) scored 300.85 to take 13th place and score four team points as the Penn State men's swimming and diving team sits in 24th place after the first day of the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. Pierce won the Zone A 3-meter championship, and will compete in that event on Friday, but he finished 13th at the NCAA Championships on the 1-meter board, within striking distance of making the final cut for the championship finals. Senior Marc Gastaldo (Winslow, Maine) just missed scoring as he finished 18th in the nation with 286.20. Both Penn State student-athletes will compete on the 3-meter board on Friday.
