Pierce Performs in One-Meter Diving Preliminary after the First Day of NCAA Championship Competition

ATLANTA, Ga.; March 23, 2006 - Senior Adam Pierce (Conroe, Texas) finished 32nd in the 1-meter diving preliminary with 248.90 points after the first night of the 2006 NCAA Men¡¯s Swimming and Diving Championships. Pierce is among 45 student-athletes representing eight Big Ten squads in NCAA Competition. Pierce is the only member of Penn State¡¯s men¡¯s swimming and diving team to qualify for NCAA competition.

This year¡¯s NCAA Championships are being held March 23-25 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, Ga.

Trials begin at noon each day, and diving preliminaries take place at 1:30 p.m. Finals competition takes place each night at 7 p.m. A complete schedule of events and a link to live results can be found on Penn State¡¯s official athletic Web site at www.GoPSUsports.com.
