ANNAPOLIS, Md.; March 10, 2006 - The first day of the Zone A Diving Championships proved to be quite a success for three Penn State divers. The competition is being held in Lejeune Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

After six dives in the 1-meter diving final, freshman Courtney Adlam (Ambler, Pa.) finished ninth with a total score of 230.05.

Senior Adam Pierce (Conroe, Texas) finished third with 306.75 points and junior Mike Alderman (Arlington, Va.) took sixth with 314.60 in the 3-meter diving final.

The women's 3-meter diving preliminary and final will begin at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. The men's 1-meter diving preliminary and final will take place at 1 p.m. tomorrow afternoon as well.
