Mike Alderman Garners Big Ten Conference Honors
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.; Feb. 25, 2006 - The Penn State men's swimming and diving team capped off the 2006 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in eighth place with 186 points. Junior Mike Alderman (Arlington, Va.) garnered the only conference honors for the Lion men. Alderman was named to the First Team All-Big Ten for his first place finish in the 1-meter diving final after the first night of Big Ten Championship competition. He placed first with a score of 354.45. Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Northwestern dominated the first team conference honors. Indiana took first place at this year's Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships with 760.5 points, followed by Minnesota and Michigan with 652 and 525 points, respectively.
