State College, Pa., January 9, 2001 - The Penn State men's swimming and diving team will host Pittsburgh in its final home meet of the season on Friday, January 12 at McCoy Natatorium beginning at 4:00 p.m. The meet features a pair of nationally-ranked programs, as Pittsburgh is No. 15 nationally, while the Nittany Lions are tied at No. 23. Penn State's 10 seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to the first race. Included in this year's departing class are Chris Alderman (Arlington, Va.), Shaun Anderson (Johnstown, Pa.), Chris Bagley (Philadelphia, Pa.), Jeffrey Harrison (Baltimore, Md.), Steve Hodgins (Holmdel, N.J.), Brian Hostetler (Chambersburg, Pa.), Brian McKenna (Voorheesville, N.Y.), Joe Peresan (Lancaster, N.Y.), John Retrum (Anderson, Ind.) and Hogan Thomas (Oklahoma City, Okla.). Penn State, which is currently 2-0 in dual meets this season, defeated the Panthers 148-89 in the team's previous meeting last season. Following its meet with Pittsburgh, the Lions will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for a dual-meet with perennial Big Ten power Michigan on Jan. 19 at 6:00 p.m. --LIONS--
