CSCAA All-America honoree ... Swimmer of the Big Ten Championships after claiming gold in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke ... First team All-Big Ten honoree ... Set three individual program records over the season: 19.36 in the 50 freestyle (Big Ten Championships), 42.08 in the 100 freestyle (Big Ten Championships) and 44.78 in the 100 backstroke (NCAA Championships) ... Record-breaking 100 backstroke time placed second at the NCAA Championships ... 42:08 100 freestyle mark at the Big Ten Championships qualified NCAA "A" standards and is a Big Ten meet record ... 2012-13: Competed in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke events during his freshman season with the Nittany Lions ... Named the Big Ten Freshman Swimmer of the Week two weeks in a row (11/13, 11/20) ... Swam a then-personal best time of 20.15 in the 50 freestyle at the Georgia Invite (11/30-12/2), which qualified for the NCAA "B" standard ... Reached the NCAA "B" qualifying mark in the 100 freestyle by turning in a mark of 43.90 at the Georgia Invite ... His times in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events ranked second on the team ... Qualified for the NCAA "B" standard in his only race in the 100 backstroke event, posting a time of 47.07 at the Georgia Invite ... Won four individual races, claiming two victories in the 50 freestyle vs. Villanova (11/10) and vs. Indiana and Virginia (11/17) and two in the 100 freestyle vs. Villanova and Indiana and Virginia.
U.S. NATIONAL TEAM EXPERIENCE
Earned a spot on the USA Swimming National Team after finishing third in the 50 meter backstroke and fourth in the 100 meter backstroke at the 2013 Phillips 66 USA Nationals ... At the 2013 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, finished fourth in the 100 meter backstroke, sixth in the 50 meter freestyle and seventh in the 100 meter freestyle ... Finished 28th in the 100 meter backstroke at the 2012 Olympic Trials.
Earned 16 All-America distinctions at Haverford coached by Matt Stewart ... Named the Central League and Delco Swimmer of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012 ... Earned 11 All-State honors, while winning the 2011 PIAA and District 1 200 freestyle event ... Awarded Main Line Magazine's 2012 Athlete of the Year ... Holds District 1 record in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke set in 2011 ... Winner of the Delco Mickey Vernon Athlete of the Year Award ... Set the State and District 1 record in the 100 backstroke set in 2010, which was the sixth fastest time in high school history ... Helped guide team to PIAAs in the 200 medley relay in 2010 and 2011 as well as the 400 freestyle relay in 2011 ... Member of the 2010, 2011 and 2012 USA Swimming Youth National team, while swimming for Radnor Athletic Club under the direction of Mike Robinson ...
