Summer 2007: Trey swam in both butterfly events and in the 400-meter freestyle at the Charlotte Ultraswim of the Grand Prix series. 2006-07: Trey swam his career bests in his three mains events, the 500 freestyle, 100 and 200 butterfly at Big Ten's. He shaved nearly 10 seconds off his previous best time in the 500 free and about three seconds off his previous best in both butterfly events. His best finish of the year was a second place finish and he also had two third places. He swam the second best time on the team in the 200 fly and the fifth best in the 100 fly. 2005-06: Trey's specialty was the butterfly events, as he got most of his pool time in the 100 and 200 butterfly. He also put in some time in the short and mid-distance freestyle events, concentrating mainly on the 500 freestyle and even swimming his best time in that event at the Big Ten Championships. He also participated in the 100 and 200 fly events at Big Ten's, swimming his best time in the 200. High School: Rabinek graduated from West Allegheny High School and swam for the Mt. Lebanon Aqua Club and head coach Don Wagner. Personal: Richard, who also goes by Trey, enjoys playing the guitar and watching movies in his spare time. He is the son of Richard and Donna Rabinek and has one brother, Ian, and two sisters, Richelle and Roxann. Rabinek is a finance major at Penn State.
