LION CAREER 2011-12: Concluded the season by participating in three events at the Big Ten Championships...Recorded personal best times in the 200 breast (2:02.50), 200 IM (1:48.66) and 400 IM (3:56.68) at the Big Tens...Competed in nine events, seeing the most action in the 200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM, while making collegiate debuts in the 50 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back and the 100 breast...Took second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:05.00, helping the squad sweep WVU in the event...Also earned a second place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:09.93 against the Mountaineers (10/22/11).

Jonathan W. Ekstrom was born July 2, 1993 in Stoneham, Mass. to Gretchen and Christopher Ekstrom...Has two siblings, Michael and Kierstin... Mother, Gretchen, was a swimmer at University of Washington...Father, Christopher, was a cyclist at MIT...Majoring in chemical engineering with the intent to work in research and development upon graduation.
