UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Due to hazardous weather brought into the region by Hurricane Sandy, the Penn State men's soccer match against Penn has been cancelled. The contest was slated to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Philadelphia.

The match will not be rescheduled this season, but instead added to the 2013 slate.

With the cancellation, the Nittany Lions finish the regular season at 9-4-3, with a 3-1-2 ledger in Big Ten action, and now look forward to the Big Ten tournament in Evanston, Ill. The tournament begins Nov. 7 and the championship will be played Nov. 11. The two semifinal matches will be aired on the Big Ten Network, as well as the title match.

Penn State currently sits in first place in the conference standings with 11 points, a point ahead of Northwestern. The Wildcats will travel to take on Indiana Thursday in Bloomington, Ind., while Michigan State wraps up its schedule with a trip to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on the Michigan Wolverines. The Hoosiers and Spartans are currently tied for third in the conference with nine points.
