University Park, Pa.; Oct. 3, 2005 ¨C Forward Jason Yeisley¡¯s (Allentown, Pa.) goal was not enough to carry the Nittany Lions to victory Monday night in a hard-fought match against No. 4 Akron, as Penn State succumbed to the Zips 2-1 in Akron, Ohio. The Lions fall to 3-6-2, with the Zips remaining undefeated at 10-0.

The Zips started the scoring twenty minutes into the game when Sinisa Ubiparipovic crossed the ball to Ross McKenzie who fired it past Penn State goalkeeper Conrad Taylor (Colorado Springs, Colo.). Penn State answered back seventeen minutes later when Simon Omekanda (Rochester Hills, Mich.) passed the ball to Yeisley who found an opening and fired it in, chalking up his fifth goal of the season. Five minutes into the second half Akron freshman Matthew Tutich headed the ball into the net to score the game-winner.

Penn State held the Zips to a season-low of four shot attempts. The Lions also outshot Akron 9-4, with three shots coming from Brian Devlin (Philadelphia, Pa.).
