UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s lacrosse team announced the addition of ten new student-athletes for the 2022 class who will provide depth at all positions on during the fall national signing period.

The ten incoming student-athletes will bring in talent from all around the northeast, featuring three from Pennsylvania, three from New York, and one from each Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and New Jersey.

“Our staff is thrilled with the quality of character of our incoming student-athletes,” head coach Jeff Tambroni stated of his incoming players. “We feel fortunate to have developed such a strong relationship with these young men and their families.  We are confident that these young men will have a significant, and positive, impact in our community, classroom and on the field.”

ALERIC FYOCK
Goalie | 6-0 | 210 | Bowie, Maryland | St. Mary’s of Annapolis
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A four-year member of St. Mary’s lacrosse team, Fyock helped guide his team to a 2015 MIAA-A Championship title … Named second team all-county and ran cross country for three years with the Saints.

Born Aleric Isaiah Fyock on September 14, 1999, in Bethesda, Maryland … Parents are Robert and Jessica Fyock … Has a younger brother, Caleb, and a younger sister, Addison … Grandfather and uncle both attended Penn State … Plans to major in marketing.

JOE WHITE
Attack | 5-10 | 190 | Richmond, Virginia | Collegiate School
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A four-year member of the Collegiate School lacrosse team … Going into his senior season, White has tallied 141 career-assists and 192 career-goals … In 2015, he set the schools season-points record with 51 goals and 53 assists to help his team finish with an undefeated regular season … White has earned All-State every year and was named All-Metro Player of the Year in 2017 … Played Varsity Football and won the 2016 State Championship … Played three years of club ball for Amped Lax.

Born Joseph Voss White II on October 21, 1999, in Richmond, Virginia … Parents are Chuck and Frances … Has two brothers, Dyson and William, and a sister, Anna … Father, Chuck, played lacrosse at The University of Virginia and brother, Dyson, played lacrosse for The University of Vermont … He is currently undecided on a major.

A four-year member of the Malvern Prep lacrosse team … Played four years of club ball with Mesa Fresh and two years with Fusion Lacrosse.

Born Seamus Monahan Glynn on December 16, 1999, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania … Parents are Michael and Mary Glynn … Has four brothers, Michael, Patrick, Brendan, and Thomas … Michael and Patrick both played lacrosse at the University of Pennsylvania, Brendan played lacrosse at Drexel University and Thomas played club lacrosse at Temple … Mother, Mary, played basketball at the University of Pennsylvania … Uncle Ed played baseball at Villanova and uncle John played basketball at Seton Hall University … Two of his uncles attended Penn State … Anticipates majoring in Business and Informational Technology.

A three-year member of the West Genesee lacrosse team, Baker helped guide his team to a 15-3 season and Sectional Finals in 2017 … Named Second-Team All-Central New York … Played club ball for Braveheart and Sweet Lax.

Born Thomas Francis Baker Jr. on December 16, 1999, in Syracuse, New York … Parents are Tom and Jodi Baker … Has two sisters, Annie and Elizabeth … Cousins, Joe and Mike Fletcher, played collegiate lacrosse … Joe played for Loyola and MLL for the Long Island Lizards and Mike currently plays for Quinnipiac … Cousin Nicole played basketball for RIT … Baker is interested in majoring in Outdoor Landscape and Design.

JORDAN DONAGHY

A four-year member of the Malvern Prep lacrosse team … Played club ball for Big Four HHH and FCA … Donaghy helped HHH to the U-15 National Championship in 2014 and helped guide FCA to win the U-15 National Championship in 2015 … Donaghy also played a season of club ball with Mesa Fresh.

Born Jordan Matthew Donaghy on September 4, 1999, in Westchester, Pennsylvania … Parents are James and Dayna Donaghy … Has one brother, Jarrett, who plays lacrosse for Franklin and Marshall … Donaghy is currently undecided but in his free time enjoys doing wood shop and graphic design.

A four-year member of Salesianum lacrosse team, Hobbs helped his team become three-time Delaware State Champions … Hobbs earned 1st team All-State, Under Armour All-American, and was named to the 2017 Philadelphia Team …  Played seven years of club ball for Big 4 HHH.

Born Brett Seabury Hobbs on October 11, 1999, in Cape Town, South Africa … Parents are Samuel and Lisa Hobbs and he has one brother, James … Plans to attend the Smeal School of Business.

MICHAEL GIAQUINTO

PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A three-year member of the Ward Melville lacrosse team, Giaquinto helped his team to compete in the 2016 State Championships and win the 2017 State Championships where he went 19-for-22 on face-offs that season … He was named All-County, All-League in 2017 and the Defensive Player of the Game for the State Championships … Played club ball for five years with Long Island Express and two years with Patriot Elite.

Born Michael Giaquinto on April 4, 2000, in Stony Brook, New York … Parents are Gregg and Donna … Has a brother, Jake, and two sisters, Megan and Robyn … Brother, Jake, plays lacrosse at Sacred Heart … He is currently undecided on a major but has an interest in science.

PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A three-year member of the Webster Thomas lacrosse team, Battaglia helped his team to a 12-3 season in 2017 and earned All-County and Team MVP … His team won the sectional championship in 2016, as well as the Western New York Championship … Played six years of club ball for Upstate Sweet Lax.

Born Christian James Matthew Battaglia on September 7, 1999, in Webster, New York … Parents are Chris and Terri Battaglia … Has two sisters, Codi and Brittni … Sister, Codi, played basketball at Brockport State, Dad Chris played football at Cortland State, and Mother Terri was an NFL Cheerleader for the Buffalo Bills … Plans to attend the Smeal School of Business.

Defense | 5-10 | 170 | Medford, New Jersey | Shawnee High School
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A four-year member of the Shawnee High School lacrosse team, Funk has been named Captain for two consecutive seasons … In 2017, he helped guide his team to a 16-2 season, earning the Conference Championship title … Funk was named 1st team All-Conference, All-South Jersey and 2nd team All-State … His team won the South Jersey Group 3 Championships in 2015 … Played five years of club ball with Big 4 HHH and US Indoor Lacrosse U-19 in Summer 2016 … Funk was named Maverick Showtime All-Star in 2015 … He is a three-year letter winner for Shawnee Soccer and earned two conference championship titles.

Born James Brett Funk on September 23, 1999, in Vorhees, New Jersey … Parents are Kurt and Laurie Funk … Has a sister, Devon … Father Kurt played basketball at UMass … His grandmother attended Penn State and his sister is currently a student … Funk intends to major in Kinesiology.

Attack/Midfield | 5-9 | 170 | Downingtown, Pennsylvania | Malvern Prep
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A four-year member of the Malvern Prep lacrosse team, Traynor helped his team to an 18-6 2017 season with 56 goals and 30 assists. During 2017, he was named All-Interac, All-EPLCA, and an All-American after a stellar season ... Played four years of club ball with Mesa Fresh where he was named Team Captain.
PERSONAL
Born Jack Hutchinson Traynor on May 19, 20, 0 in Paoli, Pennsylvania … Parents are Kevin and Elizabeth … Has four brothers, Tripp, AJ, Matty, and Kyle... Brother, AJ, plays lacrosse at Loyola and brother, Tripp, is a senior on the lacrosse team here at Penn State. Traynor plans to attend the Smeal School of Business.
