Kleinman and Vallone to Play in Annual All-Star Lacrosse Game

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 31, 2001 - Seniors Randy Kleinman (Broomall, Pa.) and Matt Vallone (Corning, N.Y.) have been selected to play in the annual North-South All-Star Classic which will be played at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. on June 9, 2001. Both will cap their Nittany Lion careers by representing Penn State at the game which features the top men's lacrosse seniors in Division I.

Kleinman is a midfielder who recorded 10 goals and seven assists this season. An extra-man offense specialist, he has posted 31 goals and 25 assists over his four-year career.

Vallone was this year's top goaltender, notching 152 saves for a .610 save percentage. Winner of the Pittinger Award given to the team's most valuable player, he had an outstanding senior campaign. He was an All-ECAC Academic team member and is a USILA Scholar All-American nominee. A member of the Dean's List and a marketing major, Vallone ends his PSU career with a .590 save percentage with 290 saves.
