Men¡¯s Lacrosse Will Host No. 3 Virginia in Season Finale

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., April 25, 2002- The Penn State men¡¯s lacrosse team will host No. 3 Virginia in their final match of the season on April 27 at 1:00 p.m. Virginia comes into the game with a 9-2 overall record and 3-0 record in the ACC while the Lions stand with an overall record of 7-5, 1-4 in the ECAC.

The Virginia match will be the final game for senior captains Tim Emmick (Corning, N.Y./Corning West), Sean Droogan (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) and Will Driscoll (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport).

Tim Emmick has played in all 12 matches this season and is third on the team in goals with ten. He has also compiled four assists and eight groundballs going into the Virginia match.

Sean Droogan is third on the team in points with 18 on the year and is second on the team in assists with 11. Droogan has played in all twelve matches and has only received one penalty.

Will Driscoll leads the team in shots (117), goals (46), and points (53) this season and recently became the new Penn State All-Time Career Goals Leader. Driscoll was also elected as the ECAC Player of the Week twice throughout the season.
