Senior Matt Warner heads into his final season having been elected co-captain by his teammates. A fixture on Penn State's defense for the past three seasons, Warner will once again be counted on to anchor Penn State's efforts. A strong and athletic player, Warner has the poise and experience to be one of the ECAC's top short stick defenders in 2009. LION CAREER: 2008:Warner played in all 14 of Penn State's games last season, starting most of them. He ended the year with a career-high five assists and 23 ground balls. Warner enters his final season as a Nittany Lion having played in all 40 games during his career, with eight points and 54 ground balls. 2007:Warner played in all 13 of Penn state's games, collecting 18 ground balls and taking two shots. Warner upped his career ground ball total to 31 in the process. 2006: Warner played in 13 games for Penn State, starting two. He ended his rookie campaign with three points off a goal and two assists. He took three shots and collected 13 ground balls. Warner got his goal in Penn State's 9-4 win at Hobart.
