Senior Ryan McAleenan heads into his final year at Penn State looking to build upon three solid years of play as a midfielder. McAleenan will be counted on to help anchor the NIttany Lion middies and allow his experience to carry over to Penn State's younger players.
LION CAREER:
2008:McAleenan played in all 14 of Penn State's games in 2008, scoring a career high eight goals and finishing the year with 10 points. McAleenan also had 17 ground balls and took 35 shots. He heads into his final year with 16 career points.
2007:McAleenan played in 10 games for Penn State in 2007, scoring one point off an assist. He upped his career point total to six. McAleenan also collected five ground balls.
2006: McAleenan played in all 13 games for Penn State in 2006 and started four of them. He ended the campaign with five points off three goals and two assists, took 16 shots and grabbed eight ground balls.
High School/Personal:
Born Aug. 21, 1987...first team all-state as both a junior and senior at East Grand Rapids...2005 high school All-American...2005 Chuck Vorce State Player of the Year...helped guide team to Class B state title in 2004 and state runner-up finish in 2005...also lettered in football...lacrosse team captain in both 2004 and 2005...son of Greg and Karin McAleenan...one sister, Corey...a supply chain major at Penn State.
