Sophomore BIlly Lloyd heads into his second season with Penn State looking to build upon a solid debut last year. Lloyd saw important action on attack for the Nittany Lions as a rookie and will have a chance to have an even larger impact as a midfielder this season.
LION CAREER:
2008:Lloyd played in seven games last season and came away with four points. He scored three goals and added on assists while collecting three ground balls. Lloyd started vs. Fairfield last year.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Lloyd lettered four years at Unionville High School where he helped guide his team to a league title as a freshman. He was a three-time first team All-League pick and was second team as a freshman. Lloyd, a three-time team captain, scored 146 goals and had 86 assists in four years for a total of 232 points. He was a three-time letterman in football as well. Lloyd, an Honor Roll student, is the son of Bill and Susan Lloyd and has a younger sister, Melissa. Lloyd is a marketing major.
COACHES VIEW:
"Bill is another of our most improved players from the fall. Billy has settled in as a middie, but could help on attack as he did last spring vs. Fairfield. As a middie he has become comfortable, confident, and has found ways for his dodging to get himself to the edge of the crease." - Coach Thiel
