LION CAREER:
2009: Gannett played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2009 and had two ground balls. Over the year, he developed into a very good close defense reserve as well.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Gannett played high school lacrosse at Downingtown East High School in Downingtown, Pa. He was a High School All-American defenseman in 2008. A senior captain for his squad, Gannett was a four-time all-league player, he had a tryout for the U.S.'s U19 squad. Alex is the son of Dave Gannett and Marianne Laidlaw. His brother, Chris, lettered for Penn State as well.

Alex has good take away ability, and ability to get the ball on the ground, but must become tougher in the hands-on aspects of defense.
