Three Penn State Alums Grace New York's Lineup, One Each on Boston and Chesapeake
LION CAREER: 2010: Bernier started all 12 games that he played last season, emerging as one of the CAA's top defenders and earning second team All-CAA laurels. Bernier notched his first career goal, scoring against Bucknell on March 30. He had 23 ground balls as well.
2009: Bernier stood out as a force on the Penn State defense last season, starting every game in 2009. His 34 ground balls were third on the team, behind only goalie Drew Adams and face-off stalwart Brian Shea.
2008: Bernier played in all 14 games for Penn State as a freshman, starting 10 of them. He had 31 ground balls and an assists as well. His play on defense helped Penn State be among the ECAC's best in defensive statistics and helped goalie Drew Adams claim another ECAC Goalie of the Year Award.
Bernier helped lead Malvern Prep to the state title in 2006 and league titles in 2005 and 2007. As a senior, he had 97 ground balls, one goal and four assists. A four-year lacrosse letterman, Bernier also lettered in football and was First Honors recipient as well. He is the son of Joanne and Charles Bernier. Both his brothers, Charles and Brian, are Penn State graduates as well. Plans on majoring in psychology with a business minor at Penn State.
