Donohue Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the Second Time
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., March 19, 2003 - Penn State senior Kevin Donohue (Saddle River, N.J.) was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the second time this year which was announced today by league officials.
In the final home meet of his career, Donohue posted a career-high score of 55.375 to win the all-around against Army. He also claimed titles on the high bar (9.600) and vault (9.550) while earning career-best marks on the pommel horse (9.475) and still rings (8.900). Donohue has won six all-around titles this season and currently ranks second in the country in the event. He has now earned Conference weekly honors six times in the past three seasons, including January 22 of this year and three occasions last year as a junior. The 2002 All-League pick placed second in the all-around at the 2002 Big Ten Championships and is the defending Conference champion on the high bar and parallel bars. Penn State is off this weekend but is back in action at the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio, Mar. 28-29.
